Likely Donna was the honorific "Doña" and "Lola" appears to be a nickname. One obituary is transcribed "Mrs Donna Lola Malarin". Most were born in California aside from in-laws from Peru and Massachusetts and two near the end of the list from Portugal and China. There are 10 more Malarins, siblings of Mariano and their families. They list two daughters, Mariann (16) and Paula (14). She appears at age 51 as the wife of head of household Mariana (should be Mariano) Malarin (53) in a household of 20 people, probably probably just south of Mission Santa Clara and present-day Santa Clara University. The 1880 census is an interesting one for this person. She died in 1892 and is buried in the Royal Presidio Chapel at Monterey. She married Mariano Malarin and they had two daughters. Maria Isidora, or Lola, was born at the Presidio on Monterey in 1829, and baptized 2 days later.
